Give Away Garden
sponsored by Rehobeth UMC
Rehobeth UMC is entering a new phase of ministry to the community—the Give Away Garden. Herman Harris has set aside 2,000 square yards of land, right across the street from the Family Life Center, for us to minister to our neighborhood through the gift of fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit. When the crops come in we will have a Farmer’s Market style offering to the neighborhood.
- Tools: rakes (2), hoes (2), shovels (2), work gloves (several)
- Planting: pots for herbs (many), 5-gallon buckets (4), large watering cans (2), small watering cans (2), Cedar posts for fence (24),
- Starters: potting soil (2 bags), 10-10-10 fertilizer (4 bags), seeds (many - vegetable and flowers), plants (many - vegetable and flowers), tomato cages (many), first aid kit
If you have any of those items that you might donate (or loan) to this new ministry at Rehobeth, please bring them to church with you Sunday morning (placing them in the carport of the parsonage), or even as late as Tuesday evening at the kickoff at 4:00 pm. Come celebrate and work with us this Tuesday at 4:00. We will provide hot dogs and drinks.
Jesus freely fed the 5,000. Perhaps we can do more! These might just be one of the “greater things than he” of which he spoke.
