Holy Week, the last week of Lent from Palm Sunday until Easter, is a powerful time of worship in the church, when we journey with Jesus to the cross before we can celebrate the Resurrection on Easter. During holy week we are reminded of Jesus’ humanity in his suffering and death, and we find solace in God’s solidarity with us in our own humanity. Here are some opportunities for you to worship with us this week.
Monday – Wednesday: Midday Prayer at Noon
Join us live at noon on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for a brief service of midday prayer. You can join us on our Facebook page, or if you don’t have a Facebook, in your web browser at this link. If you can’t make it live, the video will stay up for you to watch later.
Maundy Thursday Prayer Stations
Thursday, April 1st, 3-7pm in the Family Life Center
On the day we remember Jesus’ last meal with his disciples, we will offer a series of prayer stations for you to interact with. Through Scripture, art, guided reflection, and suggested actions these stations guide you through the last days of Jesus’ life and seek to help you connect with the events of Holy Week in a new and meaningful way. The Family Life Center will be open from 3-7pm and we invite you to spend as much or little time at them as you wish.
Good Friday Tenebrae Worship
Friday, April 2nd, 12 noon and 7pm in the Sanctuary
We will hear the passion story of Jesus’ death and burial as lights are slowly extinguished in this service powerful of tenebrae, which translates to “shadows.” The service will be in the Sanctuary and will be repeated at noon and 7pm.
