Laura Walters, MEd, Director of Rehobeth Preschool
Laura received her B.S. in Speech Language Pathology and M.Ed. in Birth-Kindergarten/Special Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She comes to Rehobeth from Reading is Fundamental where she was the Programs Manager. With RIF, Laura developed resources for parents and educators while traveling the country presenting workshops on how to integrate high quality literature and STEM. As a former kindergarten teacher with Guilford County Schools, Laura was recognized as a literacy leader by GCS district staff and her classroom was used as a model classroom for visitors to observe best practices in both literacy instruction and classroom environment.
Laura has a passion for her community. She has served as the Director of Christian Education and VP of the UMW for College Place UMC and President of the PTA at Alamance and SEMS from 2006-2013. She currently serves as captain for Forest Oaks and USTA tennis teams as well as a board member for the Forest Oaks Community Association. She is married to Chris Walters and they have two boys, Stephen and Brian.
